The Nature of Limiting Beliefs

Our conversations with Alana have spanned almost two decades.

We thought it might be fun to share some of our dialogues with Alana when we were first learning how to communicate fluently with Alana who is not an entity but the “frequency” of all of our hearts.

This is a timeless conversation Kirk shared with Alana back in the year 1997. He is curious about the nature of beliefs and how to assist people when limiting or negative beliefs are holding them back from creating their heart’s desires.

Insights for Changing Limiting Beliefs

Kirk VandenBerghe: Alana, can you provide some insight on how to assist people in changing beliefs that no longer serve them?

Alana: Teach your clients a concept of belief as a doorway.

Once a person can hold the picture of a door in their mind and sense the door as you would a belief, they will be able to open it and see what is inside the basis of their beliefs.

If they are slow to grasp the concept, then teach or help them realize they have the key to this door which acts as a symbol for unlocking and perceiving the belief they are holding. Mysteriously, when they are ready enough to open the door, the door will dissolve or open and provide insight.

The Power of Belief

Kirk: Some beliefs people have formed hold them back, while others help them grow and learn. Can you say more about this?

Alana: There are many different approaches to assist a person in belief realization. Some beliefs are hard to examine, hard to grasp the roots that lead them to be. A person may feel they hold hurtful thoughts. Let’s discuss the nature of beliefs to better understand the intention they hold.

Know all beliefs are essentially purposeful. They ignite emotions and emotional responses that allow people to learn themselves and about others.

When a person holds a belief that keeps them locked within themselves—what you term as limiting—they are creating a path to develop understanding of why others share the same beliefs they do. Usefulness is present because this creates a co-creative type of understanding. We are not judging if the belief is expanding or limiting, just that it creates connection.

Having understanding requires opening to a level of consciousness that has the intent to develop compassion. Without understanding and compassion, we would not recognize our connection. When a belief is imprinted internally then it can change and take a new form.

When a belief is resisted it will mirror back again and again and again. This is why the patterns within the universe of a belief that has rippled through the consciousness of each individual soul who has expressed and then accepted it
through forgiveness can choose to alter (elevate) to a new experience. A belief can collectively transform humanity. A belief offers an individual or humanity as a whole to gain experience and learn into possibility.

Belief Systems Expand Consciousness

Kirk: So you are saying we have our personal beliefs then we have cultural and even global beliefs we all share?

Alana: Yes! And beliefs catch on, and become morphic fields that hold information. Emotional responses are a beautiful fuel that is charged by beliefs.

An emotion is a beautiful expression. When fear charges a belief—which stems from a fear of separation—it affects the chakra alignment of the individual and reduces or inhibits the flow of love.

Fear does have its purpose. It keeps those bonded in belief, and when as a whole we can create that bond without fear as the connector then we will inherit the ability to expand our consciousness to attain more knowledge of our inherit mostly, untapped nature. This will help us collectively, raise our belief system as a whole to new heights.

Belief and Compassion

Kirk: Then on a more vast scale beliefs can be tools of our consciousness that propel us to learn and elevate our awareness.

Alana: Indeed, Kirk. So this is why we can not judge a person for holding a limiting belief, because it is what helps us create doorways. In personal development work, ask each individual to use the key that you offer them to find and eventually the the doorway will unlock and dissolve, and lack will be the first to go.

If you traced all belief that is limiting, or hurtful—such as that of victim—or grounded in not enough . . . that of pain, that of fear . . . I can go on and on. If you traced these fear-based beliefs back to their initial beginning they will connect to a belief in lack, and fear to express due to preconceived projected consequences. Compassion allows us to move beyond identifying with a belief as who we are, but rather a doorway we have created for the purpose of learning.

All emotional feelings are valid. Feeling that resonates within are there for a reason. The reason for the feeling or emotion is not to be judged, just expressed safely and it can transform because as a species we learn. This is why logic is not really our dominate state. It assists, but when it judges it keeps us from allowing our beliefs to continue expanding to embrace greater possibility. Logic is just an aid that is based on our minds ability to compare and reason.

Channeled Insights on the Nature of Intention

When you look up the root of the word “intention” in the dictionary you find:

intend: have (a course of action) as one’s purpose or objective; plan.

Building on that definition you can now describe intention (noun) as: a thing intended as an aim or plan; the action or fact of  intending (verb).

With this description you can gain an idea of what “your intention” in any given situation may communicate, but the dictionary definition falls short in conveying the essence of what an intention does when fueled by the deep seated nature within you that makes an intention such a powerful presence.

So now let’s ask: Why is intention so powerful when it comes to the laws of manifestation and the ability to funnel energy to transform our lives?

The Essence of Intention

One day we had the opportunity for Kirk to chat with Alana on the topic of manifestation. During the discourse we were surprised to receive an in-depth answer from the very vibration, frequency, or “essence of intention.” For the sake of giving the voice that shared the following information a personal name, it presented itself as “Ra.”

Interpreting channeled information is a lot like translating a foreign language until skill is developed between the spokesperson who is conveying, and that which is imparting the information. Often the communicated words seem to speak more to an intuitive part of us that receives insights like they were “thought packets,” dense packets of information that is powerfully packed within a few words.

Swirl of SmokeUnraveling and understanding the deeper meaning of the words in each thought packet requires expanding your perceptions to grasp the meaning beyond the mind’s logical interpretation. As you read the following dialogue it is best to take a few moments, as you would prior to meditating, so your inner ear is open to receiving more detail.

In the beginning of the communications from Ra, Ra is describing the state of channeling, and Ra goes on to describe the essence of the nature of intention and the connection between the human heart and mind.

The Trance State of Channeling

Kirk: Can you describe what is happening during the deep trance state that makes it possible to actually talk with non visible entities and universal frequencies, such as collective heart, or in this case the “essence of intention?”

Ra: The trance state that is entered when one moves into the state you refer to as “getting big”—an expanded consciousness state where the body feels it loses the definition from its surroundings—is when consciousness expands past the sole attention of the body and merges with a different dimension for whatever purpose the intention of your seeking has in that moment. You can consciously intend, or your higher nature may be doing the intending.

When this happens, consciousness may seem detached from the body, not the soul detached from the body. In this state, one accesses an ageless state not restricted by time and space as long as one is connected to the soul. This is similar to the state one enters prior to death of the body, however the intention here is not to create a death transition. The point here is that the being who is conveying moves into an ageless space as their conscious perceptions move one’s focus from the space-time continuum of their physical environment.

Soul gives life. Attachment gives age. Dimension shifting is how we create healing and often instantaneous healing that can ripple back into the physical. A thought energizes or creates intention, and intention can shift consciousness to access a shape shifting ability by moving one’s consciousness into vastness—vastness as a noun—or a state of getting big to access or connect and thus blend with a part of one’s multi-dimensional being. We can go further to say we can also blend with the essence of all that is when holding this expanded intention of conveying.

The Essence of Light & Dark

Kirk: From your expanded observation can you describe how this occurs?

Ra: One finds the formula for creating this state of being by looking into oneself, ardently—again, ardently as state of being—with the heart in full motion. The rhythm is attained to unlock the door to all that is witnessing its light or intention. The heart Chakra is open or expecting to receive—again a state of being not doing.

All that is as thought, light is intention. That is why thought contains darkness. That which is empty or thought, becomes full or light—meaning it is filled by intention—and heart gives it life. And life is best served in full thought and in full light by joy, laughter, and delight because those states are experienced in the now, which leads to being full of oneself or big in consciousness.

When one creates this state of being or is able to move consciousness into different dimensions to experience one’s vastness, fullness, emptiness, or whatever will serve the thought (emptiness), until the light (intention) directs the self’s affairs, agendas, desires, experiences, focus, teaching, action, reaction, creation, or intention of these when consciously directed. One is thus creating their reality rather it be consciously, or subconsciously—or perhaps it is directed through limitation or fullness depending upon the blending of thought, intention, and heart!

Fueling Intention with Attention

Kirk: Thank you. As the frequency of intention, do you have a message you would like to share with humanity?

Ra: Open the gates to other realms. Learn to heal oneself by expanding awareness into vaster dimensions so you may alter past, alter future probabilities and possibilities to create the eternal now within itself.  Now within itself is when one is truly home, it happens only once and that is all that it can be for that is what is limitless and always present.

Ra as intention brings you the strength to arrange creation, and heart will guide your light so that your purpose shall be full of one’s divinity shining like the moon reflecting the sun’s intent to go on to stir the qualities that only heart can bring into blossom. The moon reflects the sun as our reality reflects our intention, and heart is what creates the fullness.

Nature creates the wind, the water, and the air to bring knowingness of feeling to that which man creates with nature’s feelers. We shape material so that we may feel our creations.

And now it is time to refrain (rejoice) the feelers (the elements) and direct them with light (intention) so that man may celebrate the feeler’s freedom to feel fully and without fear. But to experience and feel the loyalties and wholeness that the wind, the water, that all the elements bring within our emotions to bestow heart’s full tone. Nature watches intently to serve her gifts whenever one’s intent chooses to feel full. Joy-filled emotions direct nature to fill oneself with full light while the full and rich void, or darkness, eagerly awaits instruction.

Rejoice in the elements of being human in full thought, full light, full love, knowing oneself infinitely to bring the qualities of Heaven to Earth as you ardently look within oneself to discover the magic of creation.

The Darkside of Life

Question for Alana: Alana can you share some insight about what is referred to as “The Dark Side” of who we are.

Should we try and distance ourselves from having dark thoughts, or thinking of bad things?

Sometimes I try to be positive, but I find dark thoughts start to creep in, and I feel like I can’t move forward and make decisions. I don’t know if it is fear, or if I have a dark side that wants to keep me from realizing success.

What is Our Dark Side?

Alana’s Answer: Thank you for bringing forth this thought full and wonderful question.

Let’s begin by asking a few more questions. Let’s ponder:

What does the dark side have to do with who we are?

Essentially what is the dark side?

What does the dark side of our nature lead us to within ourselves?

By asking these questions we might presuppose that we are split; that we have a light side, and that we have a dark side — two distinct halves.

The Illusion of Dark & Light

The truth of this question is that it is an illusion that we are split, that the light side is good, whole, and bright, while the dark side is gloomy, controlling, bad, and even evil.

When you go to the essence of darkness and lightness you will find they are co-creative energies and they exist without polarity. The part of us that senses polarity comes from the mental reasoning that takes place through sensing and identifying them as separate.

The true distinction is that they are interdependently blended. You cannot have light if you do not have darkness. You cannot have darkness if you do not have light. But, this does not equate to a polarity that pushes against each other. One is not more important than the other. What a distinction invites is that they are aspects of each another expressing wholeness. Within light, you find darkness, and within darkness you find light.

Even if you were to ask the darkest, most densely identified aspect to travel to its core, it would also find light. And if you were to ask the lightest, most radiating essence where its power lies, it would find it contained darkness. Sort of like how an infinity symbol dances yet is interconnected

Therefore, when we go into one’s so called “dark side” perhaps we might enter a space that you could equate to the womb. Or perhaps, another metaphor would be going into the soil or the dirt where things grow. Another example is the winter solstice, where we experience the shortest day of the year.

The Well of Creativity

Now let’s speak more of creativity dear one–when you think of the dark side, think of it like a well where information is stored. It is not the information, but it is the space that contains it. Therefore the darkness is where creativity thrives and is birthed, because, from emptiness all things manifest.

It is the space that contains the nutrients. It holds the resource essences that fuel manifestation when a spark of knowledge is ignited. So without the darkness we would not have light, and without the light we would not have darkness, because they are co-creative aspects within each other.

The Nature of Judgment

Another consideration to think about is how the mind’s mental process has the tendency to want to judge. But I would not necessary say that darkness is judgment. That would be like saying our mind is dark.

Instead I would say that judgment has a deeper intention to gather more information, or light if we truly listen. And I would say by going into darkness you’ll find the space in which you can begin to uncover and discover what is there for you from which to create.

When a being becomes balanced in life–full and aware–it is much like walking on an edge. Here you able to embrace both dark and light by allowing them to be available, present, balanced, and in synthesis. Then, knowledge, and wisdom can be imparted to fuel creativity.

So dear one, embracing the dark side does not mean being bad, or evil, or living only in the state of your judgments. It means you are allowing your state to go deep into the well of existence where creativity begins and where the imagination is stored awaiting to birth creation. It is where dreams are created. In darkness you find the stored fuel, which wants to be combined with the resources of your heart — wisdom and light — to ignite creativity and gather, of course, love.

Thank you for this great question.
