Art Gallery: From Arawaks to Zapdos

From the Arawak Art Gallery located in the Dominican Republic to the Zapdos art gallery available online, today's art galleries come in all shapes and sizes just like the artwork that they're dedicated to displaying. Nowadays we're as likely to be interested in touring wearable art galleries as we are to hang knock-off Leonardo da Vinci paintings or life-size Salvador Dali paintings in our homes.

With the resurgence of anime art, a form of Japanese animation that was at one time referred to as Japanimation, diehard Pokeman fans can now search through numerous Zapdos art gallery files to find an elusive Zapdos trader card and download anime images of the "electric second Legendary Bird." Anime art is available in a wide range of genres with its often-futuristic settings and use of colorful graphics that are closely linked to Japanese comics known as manga. While shojo anime for young girls is a commonly targeted audience, yaoi anime that features stories focusing on male homosexuality is not. Naruto is yet another long-running popular manga and anime art form that focuses on the life of a teenage ninja known as Uzumaki Naruto.

Perhaps at the other end of the art spectrum is the interest in Arawak art. Gallery items for such pieces can be found both online and in the traditional "brick and mortar" business and museum setting. Arawaks, a diverse group of people that are often referred to as Amerindians, inhabited various parts of northeastern South America. Such a population included the Taino, Caribs, Lokono, Nepoya, Suppoyo, and Ingeri. An Arawak art gallery in any form would likely contain pottery, baskets, stone sculptures, cotton-woven items, stone tools, and jewelry made out of bone, gold, shell, or stone - all items that provide clues to the culture of their society. Many of the items seen in an Arawak art gallery feature religious symbols and were created with tools made out of flint, shell, or stone.

Wearable art galleries range from those that feature the more-traditional visual arts such as textiles to those that focus on current fashion trends of wearing pieces of art like a custom-made necklace or a one-of-a-kind quilted vest. Wearable art, which is also known as artwear, is an extension of the fiber arts. While there are numerous awards dedicated solely to wearable art, galleries also feature exhibits on various wearable art methods and artists. Even though wearable art is often limited in the number of pieces available for a certain design, that doesn't mean that it's too expensive for the average person to be able to afford. In many ways, artwear opens new avenues of self-expression to those who might not otherwise feel that they have a way to express themselves artistically.

Perhaps the most recognized form of fine art gallery are those that feature the recognized drawings found in such pieces as Salvador Dali paintings or perhaps those done by Leonardo da Vinci. Paintings such as these have been appreciated and exhibited for many generations. Affordable reproductions of such work can often be found easily via online art dealers or at your local art supply store.

Regardless if your interest lies in visiting a Zapdos art gallery, an Arawak art gallery, or numerous wearable art galleries, you can be sure that such a source exists to meet your needs. While many of us will never own original Salvador Dali paintings, we can all take the time to appreciate even the knock-off Leonardo da Vinci paintings that grace the walls of our art-loving friends and associates.
