Those who've ascended are able to control their vibrational energy and can appear in various physical forms at will. Because of this mastery, death is not a requirement for ascending to occur; some actually refer to ascension as an "alternative" to death. While ascended individuals can re-incarnate, Ascended Masters are often described as those who have chosen to stay in a non-physical state of existence and instead channel their spiritual truths and knowledge through people who remain in the physical world.
