Massage Tools: From Tables to Massage Music
Massage tools are necessary for the massage therapist to perform their job. Massage tables, chairs, the right, relaxing music are only a few of the main tools for massage.
A qualified person opening their own clinic would need to have some basic massage tools, adding more and more as their practice develops. Besides the table and/or chair and some great massage music, massage oils in various viscosity and fragrances are needed. Several unscented oils should also be included in the massage tools toolbox because some people are allergic to fragrance. Hot stone massage is very popular and this tool can be easily added to the toolbox easily. Hydrotherapy is also very popular, so having a means of warming wet towels is needed. If cryotherapy is offered, then a means of keeping the massage tools for this therapy at cold temperatures is needed.
One of the best massage tools is the right atmosphere. A setting that is peaceful, serene and attractive is most conducive for practicing the art of massage. Soothing colors, pleasing green plants, subdued indirect lighting are all tools of the massage trade.
The most important tool for massage, however, is the sense of touch applied by the therapist's hands. Without this, all the other items are needless. This sense of touch transfers healing through manipulation of muscles and connective tissues to allow the human body to heal itself, distress itself and improve general health.
If you are opening a clinic of your own and want to insure your tools, be certain to insure your hands as the most important of all massage tools. Some insurance companies will be willing to insure your practice and your hands at reasonable rates; just as surgeons purchase insurance on their hands. Without this human touch, no practice will succeed. So fill your massage tool box with lots of great accessories and take care of your most important tool: your hands.
