Nostradamus Prophecies

Nostradamus prophecies, set in quatrains, are still read by thousands who search for keys to the future. Not all Nostradamus predictions can be proven but some seem to be tied to events in the past such as the fearsome reign of Adolph Hitler and the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Born in 1503, Michel de Nostredame, lived to be 63 years of age, quite old in that era. He studied medicine and helped many through the years of the Plague. During the pandemic of the Plague, he lost his wife and children. Later in life, he married again and fathered six children, three boys and three girls. Over the years, his focus on medicine became secondary to his focus on the occult and prophecy.

Because of the Inquisition, Nostradamus could not openly write his quatrains. He encoded his prophecies in mixed languages and word games. When his first publication, Les Prophecies, appeared, some thought him a voice of evil; other believed him a fraud or insane; yet others accepted his words as prophecy.

To obtain a list of Nostradamus predictions in English, you must turn to one of the more reliable books available with translations of the quatrains. Be very selective and research the text you select because many of the books published contain poor, unreliable information.

Many Nostradamus fans believe he predicted the World Trade Center September 11th tragedy. The information that flooded the Internet claiming that Nostradamus prophecies had clearly stated the tragedy took two unrelated quatrains and combined them to mean what the writer wanted. In fact, parts of the text were not even related to Nostradamus at all but were contained as a "sample of a quatrain-like verse" in a term paper written in 1997.

Perhaps, Nostradamus was a true prophet, if he lived in modern times maybe he could have shared his visions without fear of prosecution of some sort. We shall never know his true depth, but it is intereting to analyze his works for so many people are curious to know of future times and what may lie ahead.

The Nostradamus Society of America - This site is an historical society dedicated to preserving the memory (and writings) of Michel Nostradamus. We feature samples of his prophetic writings. Membership is available to anyone interested.
