Keeping our Mind Free of Stress Helps our Emotional Health

If you want to live your life with mindfulness and wellness, there are some techniques and tips you will want to know about.

How well we are has a great deal to do with mindfulness.

We often choose how we feel and how we react to events in our lives.

Health and wellness in the workplace is a great place to begin. Stresses from employment, the hectic pace of business today, can cause our bodies and minds to become ill. The skills required to avoid these impacts from stress are effective time management and stress management.

Time management allows a well person to avoid stressors and control their use of time. By scheduling times during the day to answer telephone messages and respond to email, we can free themselves from the feeling of being controlled by all the outside factors that seem to pull us apart during the workday, often resulting in a feeling of illness by the time we head home from work. Using stress management techniques such as deep breathing and visualization during the workday can reduce the amount of stress that our bodies internalize and avoid stress-related illness.

Emotional health is crucial to a full and productive life. This means we must accept ourselves with all our imperfections and limitations. It also means that we must accept and use our strengths as well. Everyone has unique talents and those talents and skills can be used to provide a basis for emotional health and wellness. Instead of running to doctors for medications to make us feel better, when our emotions are the real problem, we need to address internal issues such as forgiveness, releasing resentments, creating a peaceful mindset and environment in which to live, and putting away the baggage of the past.

As you can see, mindfulness and wellness go hand in hand. We can choose to be happy and well or we can choose to be unhappy and ill both physically and emotionally. Choose to be well by learning techniques to manage your stresses and avoid illnesses caused by our work and home lives.
