Fairy Gifts for Everybody – Incense Burners, Night Lights, and Posters

By Editor Leave a Comment

fairy giftsThere’s so much to include when discussing fairy gifts.

For those on your shopping list who are attracted to the whimsy and lightheartedness of the fey folk, you can easily find fairy gifts for every type of fairy lover at every age.

Now, remember for most collectors you’ll want to focus on the more traditional, sweet looking pixie fairies. The Tinkerbelle type of fairies found in light fairytales and in nursery schools. For those a bit more on the alternative side, darker, gothic-like fairies are also collectibles.

Gothic Fairy Collectibles

The darker fairies have their place as mischievous tricksters and serve as a reminder that while most fairies are playful and friendly if you get on their bad side watch out! They can sour your milk, unwind your yarn, and pull your cat’s tails.

Their likeness can be found on fairy incense burners in the fantasy section of a collectible store often placed next to the wizards and the angry-looking elves.

Fairy night lights can make sweet and excellent baby shower gifts. They are used to comfort and watch over the new baby as they are sleeping. Not all early stories involving faeries depict them as baby-snatching changeling bringers. This is one of the more naughty types of faery. The rest will be happy to watch the baby while sleeping and will keep cats from sitting on her chest and sucking out the breath.

Other Fairy Art Uses

Fairy posters are often found on the walls of an infant to ten-year-olds room and pictures of fairies can be seen hanging in doctor’s offices and waiting rooms. Not only do they entertain the eye they are meant to calm and provide protection.

Fairy books and calendars really do make great gifts for children who love to be read. You might even know an adult or two that enjoys a good fairytale and a fun and memorable fairy character might brighten up their office space of a nook in their home. Because people who collect fairies tend to buy their own figurines, check out the many beautiful and creative illustrative coffee table books of fairy folk that make great gifts.

But really, you might ask: Why do people collect fairies?

We have a couple of friends that do, and they say the fairies in their homes remind them of a simpler time when the earth was pure and there was no pollution and people worked together on tasks. They can represent magick, fantasy, and serve as a reminder that through all of the nasty things that happen in the world, the little fairies are still in their gardens, still appreciate the finer, simpler things in life!  They can be a reminder to not take life quite so seriously. This reminder all by itself is a wonderful reason to present a friend with one of varied types of fairy gifts.
