By blending with the essential vibration of a given thing, you can channel your creativity in much broader ways.
Question: I can feel incredible creativity within my nature. Yet, it is so hard for me to get myself moving and creating in the physical.
It is like it all lives within me and spins. I wish to connect with whatever block inhibits me from unleashing this abundance of creativity I know is there.
Creating art feels terrific, and I am usually happy with the results, but there is still a controlled aspect to what I do. I seem to create art that has to look real rather than flow with my interpretations of what real may look like.
Does this have something to do with me wanting to be safe and fit in?
Thank you, Alana, for being gracious and connecting to my question. I appreciate your presence here in these times.
Alana’s Answer: You are welcome, dear one.
I am feeling three questions. The first seems to be about the ability to begin movement.
The second concerns the quality of the movement.
The third seems to involve the intention and outcome of the movement.
The Circle of Questions
I sense a spinning within that feels like your mind bounces among these three questions. First, it goes to the first question, then it goes to the second question, and then it goes to the third question. Then, it goes back to the first question, then to the second question, and then to the third question.
How you identify with this feeling of limitation may be happening consciously as well as unconsciously. The essence of these questions feels like the spinning of which you speak.
Connecting to a Path
Alana will assist you in breaking free of this internal circle. We will break the confusion into a path to help you feel connected to a path. Your internal nature spins with these questions, and you do not know where to connect or land to engage movement.
Let’s examine the first question, which relates to your overwhelming sense of wanting creative movement and not knowing where to begin.
Improvising the Nature of a Color
Try identifying with a pigment of a color and feeling its vibration and essence. Pretend like you are an expression of that color. Feel its vibration, grab a medium of that color, and make a mark that feels like an interpretation of the vibration of that color.
In other words, go into something conceptual, significant, and expansive and then interpret it. It’s like improvising a color’s personality or quality and acting it out! Play with the movement of a stroke, mark, swish, or whatever feels exciting to your soul.
This exercise breaks the ice. It’s a way to get in motion that doesn’t require much thought or planning. It’s intuitive and natural. It’s about you becoming the moving essence of creativity!
Movement Can Invoke Excitement
After you engage in a motion, excitement can follow next since you have stepped into the energy of initiation. Your inner nature will be free to identify a starting place for creative freedom.
As Alana senses your being by choosing the element of color followed by movement, I feel this is what can ignite internal excitement.
For your nature, blending with the vibration of a color ignites your intention to keep moving. Initiating creativity with this small ritual may be much more exciting than delving into a concept or subject by examining the whole topic first, like the all-encompassing thought of, “Oh, now here is a tree. Reproduce that tree.”
Practice Eventually Leads to an Automatic Response
For your nature to ignite until you develop an automatic response, it may be, “Let’s step into the microscopic element of the bark and feel its qualities. Let’s create an interpretation of that bark by picking three colors that vibrate with its nature.
Enjoy movement that represents the colors, their vibration, blending, and connecting with them. We have addressed the first and second questions by creating a pathway to begin.
Giving the Pathway Purpose
What I find exciting about this first question is that you are creating a way to begin. Your being is conceptual, wildly expansive, and one that wishes to express. However, sometimes, your nature has difficulty finding the finite or grounded sense of purpose to begin moving into a creative process.
By blending with the essential vibration of a given thing, you can channel your creativity in much broader ways.
By feeling the vital qualities of a thing, topic, or concept the second question can now support the third. By channeling the essence of any of these elements, your experience builds to allow the quality of movement to transform. Yes?
Letting the Purpose Also Be Creative
The third question expands your creativity as you find a pathway to let go of exactly how your creation develops to serve your intended purpose (intention, outcome).
Now, I am saying that your nature wants all parts to serve. Yes? So, how about allowing all your senses to continue to serve a purpose and allowing that purpose to be delightful? The outcome will begin to create itself and develop a life or unique expression that may be far greater than you could imagine.
Enjoyment Expands Creativity’s Gifts
The third question also includes a way to move blocked energy related to how you define a realistic work of art. You’ve now learned you can ignite creative movement and channel color and elements as they take on their own life.
Perhaps you and your creation share a type of collective consciousness.
The two of you are blending in the experience. As the art expresses through you, it takes on its “own” form or liveliness. As you flow with creative energy, the artwork becomes like a voice telling you what it wants and needs. And the form may surprise you! You will find you co-create together, and your creation’s idea of reality may differ from what you imagined.
When approaching a work of art as a life force energy yet to form, you become the channel, like an orchestra leader directing a band to create lovely music that is complete once the song is over.
Fitting Into the World
It may take some practice trusting your ability to listen to your artwork as a life force energy that wants to communicate and channel its intent. But, again, play, move into enjoyment, experiment, and listen. You may listen by channeling an emotion, channeling its desire to present itself to the world. How about playing with your senses and wrapping them in enjoyable feelings of creativity?
If this feels like connecting to an artwork before you have created it, could it bring up a block in another way and allow it to be present! Yes? Wonderful! It is because it means something else will shift and transform! The more questions that arise (what you might label as a block), jot the words on a paper beside you.
Get these words, ideas, and concepts out of your body and record them so you can begin to create interpretations of what they may also look like as a color, a brush stroke, or an element.
It doesn’t matter if your interpretations are a simple crosshatch pattern or painting two non-harmonious colors.
Just begin to create movement. Every exercise becomes a type of art therapy. You are a creative explorer experiencing a collective relationship with what is non-visible until the energy becomes visually alive.
All your thoughts that appeared like blocks now have a path to express. They can be released and transformed. The nature in your being that attaches to a sense of a perfect reality that likes to fit in and feel safe reproduces how things externally appear in an “in its likeness” world- will expand and create new fun and playful realities! You will discover an expansive form of creativity and sense your skills in a new way!
Play with this multi-step exercise, engage in a new way of being with your art, and you’ll step into the energy of creative transformation!
